10th U.S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering – Call for Papers

The 10th U.S. National Conference on Earthquake Engineering (10NCEE) will be held at the Dena’ina Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska on July 21-25, 2014. The conference, on the 50th Anniversary of the Great Alaska Earthquake and Tsunami, will provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to share the latest knowledge and techniques to mitigate the damaging effects of earthquakes and tsunamis. Special Session proposals are due April 15, 2013 and Abstracts are due June 15, 2013. More information can be found on the conference website at http://www.10ncee.org.

New Washington EERI Chapter

On April 1, 2013 a group of scientists and engineers met in Seattle to establish a new Washington chapter of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. The group elected David Gonzalez of Degenkolb Engineers as president and Pooja Jain of Moffatt and Nichols as Secretary-Treasurer. The first meeting with a program will be likely be held in June, 2013.
